Taste of Tain
Tain Gala Association have recently launched the Taste of Tain cookbook.
The recipes in the book are made up from Tain's award winning chefs, farmers wifes, local businesses, clubs, artists, musicians and just plain good cooks of which there are many - unfortunately it has been impossible to include everyone.
From the Scottish Highlands The Taste of Tain book was conceived to help the Tain Gala Association raise funds from the British Pipe Band Championships held in Tain, after which the revenue from this book will support many fine projects and events organised by the Gala Association for the community and visitors.
The concept originated from a successful Taste of Tain gala event that included fine local cuisine, music and the arts. Taste of Tain is unique in that there exists in such a relatively small part of the Highlands a wealth of talented chefs, superb local produce, wonderful musicians and artists. Taste of Tain is a celebration of the success of all those who generously contributed towards this book.
Taste of Tain is available to buy, priced £9.99 each, from most local shops and businesses in and around Tain and Falls of Shin visitor centre, near Lairg. The book can also be purchased by mail order by sending a cheque for £12.43 (includes postage and packaging for 1 book), made payable to Tain Gala Association , to the following address:
